“If, while resting on a summer afternoon, you follow with your eyes a mountain range on the horizon or a branch which casts its shadow over you, you experience the aura of those mountains, of that branch.”
In his 1935 essay, Walter Benjamin argued that the rise of mechanical reproduction changed the nature of art, causing artworks to lose the “aura” and uniqueness once tied to the original.
This work is printed using RISO printing. Although RISO is a form of mechanical reproduction, each layer and overprint carries subtle variations, making every finished print slightly different. These differences give the print a living, unrepeatable quality.

“Object Sightings” is a series of everyday observations, drawn from the small things I pause to photograph mid-walk. They’re not perfect images, but fragments of shape, color, and arrangement that caught my eye.
Once you start looking, roadblocks are everywhere. Their natural fluorescent colors are amplified through RISO inks, while layering, slight misregistration, and grainy textures give each cone its own character and glow.

This fridge magnet series is a spin-off from Justin’s accordion zine of the same name, inspired by tropical plants in Brazil.
The original artwork measures 23 × 14 cm when fully unfolded. Each plant illustration is drawn at actual size, matching the scale of the plant itself. When adapted into fridge magnets, the artwork is scaled down to 8 × 5 cm, allowing the once-expanded pages to enter everyday spaces in a smaller, warmer way.

This fridge magnet series is a spin-off from Studio Fishball’s illustration seriesPlant Diary: Orchid Edition.
The Orchid Series is the first chapter ofPlant Diary, documenting 9 orchids that we encountered between 2023 and 2025.
While drawing each plant, we were also recording the seasons and emotions surrounding that moment: the brightness of summer, the quietness of early winter, and the subtle shifts in feeling over time. Each piece carries its own atmosphere and emotional trace.

In winter’s hush, a gentle sight. As I passed by different windowsills, I noticed that many had a plant sitting by the glass. Their owners often pulled back the curtains, letting in fresh air and sunlight, as if giving the plants a moment to breathe and soak in the warmth.

Series illustrations celebrate three plants native to the Hudson Valley.

2024 collaboration with Keap for their limited edition jumbo matchbox set.
Inspired by Keap’s roots in New York and their focus on nature, we chose three edible Northeast native plants and created a series of illustrations that follow different stages of growth, from flower to fruit, alongside the insects that accompany them. Together, they form a small story about growth, companionship, and coexistence.
