Alvar Aalto Type Zine
Using Aalto's forms and shapes, I created a typeface that is both functional and visually striking. Each letter is inspired by the curves and lines of a particular Aalto chair, resulting in a cohesive yet eclectic typeface that captures the essence of his designs. The book itself is not a traditional typeface reference; instead, it's a visual feast that showcases the beauty and versatility of Aalto's designs.
As a designer, I have always been fascinated by the works of Alvar Aalto. His furniture and building designs are timeless and have continued to influence designers and architects around the world. However, I wanted to take this influence one step further and create something truly unique.
By creating this unconventional type book, I hope to inspire others to think outside the box and to find inspiration in unexpected places. By using Aalto’s forms in a new way, I hope to pay tribute to his legacy while also pushing the boundaries of what is possible in typography.
